Things You Should Keep In Your Office Desk

People who work at an office spend more time at their desk than they do at any other place. It becomes a kind of miniature second home to some, who personalize their desk space as well. While adding a few personal decorating touches to your desk is fine, there are far more essential things that need to be on your desk, or in your desk drawer. Here are some of them.

Backup items

There will be many times when you need to travel to other places straight after work, mostly due to you not having any time to make a house stop. In situations like this you may need a few items that will act as backups such as makeup, or even dental floss. Keep some of these daily use products in your desk drawer as a backup in case you don’t have time to go home. You should also keep backups of essential items such as an extra set of house keys or replacement car keys in the case of an emergency.

First Aid

Long work hours lead to a lot of health issues arising. Small issues such as headaches or gastric pains can be easily dealt with if you keep a small first aid box in your desk. While your office may most probably have a first aid box of its own, it may not always contain the medicine that you are used to taking. If you are picky about your medication then it is best to keep a box of your own, which is well stocked with the medicine that you usually take. If you have a particular set of medicine that you have been prescribed to take for an ailment, you can keep these inside that box as well.

Breathe Mints

Most people, especially women, always try to keep a few breath mints on them in case of an emergency. In addition to keeping them in your purse you can also store a few in your desk drawer so that you can pop a couple after meal times. You can also keep a few candies in your desk as well, just so that you can stay awake during your long hours at work. In addition you can also keep things such as artificial sweeteners or sugar packets, if you have any particular ones that you need to add into your tea or coffee.

Plastic Forks

One way to make office meals a lot more convenient is by keeping some plastic utensils in your desk drawer. These will definitely come in handy on those busy days when you need to eat at your desk.
