Wow, he’s very funny.
I imagine Americans overall do like lists. We need to know where things stand…where they rate and who and what is where, and who is gaining on which.
When I say “we” I don’t mean me.
I have few uses for lists. In my world, things are too fluid. As soon as I wrote it, it would no longer be in the “now”. It would be so…. two seconds ago….
I don’t watch any TV or buy any Magazines. I’ve no idea where anything stands on any list. I’m not “COOL”. By the time I might pick up Vogue in the waiting area of the car repair shop, the issue is months old and the lists null and void….. . long forgotten. Did I really need to know that anyway? Was it of value?
Now I’m for SHOPPING LISTS! REMINDER LISTS! Perhaps a nice list of POSITIVE ASPECTS! Eh?
How do I love thee. Let me count the ways?

I’ll leave the scorekeeping lists to those who are following the game, whichever one it might be. I prefer to remain blissfully unaware.
I’m not the coolest.
Certainly not the most “up to date”.
But I’m not sitting in the stands watching the others play either.
I’m grateful I no longer find those games interesting.
On the leading edge, there is no score. We are all winners. All #1. All Tops. All have blue ribbons pinned on. Everyone cheers for everyone. Hip Hip!…………………….! Go Go GO! YES! WE win. We are one.
