“A Chocolate Version of Mom’s Chicken Soup” featuring Dean Radin, IONS Research Fellow
IONS research has led to the development of a new kind of “intentional chocolate” that makes positive intentions an actual ingredient - with mood-enhancing effects on those who eat it. This video tells the story of the science that brought together advanced meditators and chocolate-lovers to explore the age-old question of why mom’s chicken soup tastes so good.

Ahhh… Another example of The Mind-Booty Connection! Chocolate is an anti-inflammatory; and sugar pills have been used to cure all sorts of ills. Why not use chocolate as medicine, or diet-food? On a very practical note, people have always “Blessed” their meals before eating them — setting an intention that the energy provided by the food take a certain form and do certain work… Dr. Emoto (Messages from Water) has told the same story with beautiful images of water crystals. Unfortunately, a very useful and practical device has become a misunderstood ritual and fallen into disuse.
I set a clear intention that my body freely take the elements it needs from the stream of elements I consume — with no fear, judgment, or attachment — enjoying the experience and releasing all but a pleasant memory and those elements I need to retain for the growth, health, and strength of my body. I keep only what I need to do those things I wish to do; and I happily release the rest.
I was actually relating something that I do in my mind; but that last paragraph is essentially an affirmation of my unspoken intention. If I had an affirmation, that would probably be it; but when I look at my food, I really just FEEL my “blessing.” I try and generate an awareness of the feelings of love and appreciation in my heart; and then I FEEL that “ball” of “positive energy” moving from me to my food — connecting us in a way. Sometimes, rather than reciting words, I simply look at one of the beautiful pictures Jennifer has taken and hung on the walls; reflecting on the beautiful things we’ve seen gives me the same feeling — and puts my body and mind in the perfect state to receive, enjoy, and release what I no longer need.
There is a Greek diner a few blocks from my home; and the brothers who own the place make a magical lemon-chicken soup — just like their mama used to make! Whenever I used to feel cold/flu symptoms coming on, I would get two orders of that soup and be instantly cured! In fact, it is a fairly common practice around here — with that particular soup. They put a lot of love and thought and energy into making that soup. I tried. It didn’t work so good…
When I was about 7 or 8-years old, my mom would get me one of these twenty-five cent hamburgers from this little hamburger stand that smashed the burger flat and stuck it in a waxed-paper envelope. I LOVED those burgers! And, it always worked; and we all remember those burgers as a “miracle cure.”
No matter what you eat, if you are going to eat it, you might as well make the best of it. Food is energy; and energy responds to thought. Don’t worry about what your food might do to you; tell it what you want it to do and become — strong muscles, healthy cells, abundant energy, etc… Don’t just think ABOUT what you eat; think TO what you eat!

What a fantastically “delicious” reminder that.. THOUGHT leads to “that-which-is”! I am “borrowing” this deliciously delightful video.. thank you so much for this “Happy Sparkle Thoughts” gift.
It’s amazing how TRULY connected this universe really IS. Makes my head spin with “feeling” all the positive energies swirling around- and I am “seeing” coloured rainbows of light, dancing all over.
