Is there something you want? Do you have a dream that you would like to see come true? Do you have a prayer that you would like answered? Most people want something; though many don’t seem to know what that “something” is. Unfortunately, our “external” focus has most people thinking that “something” we are looking for is an actual “thing;” and most people spend most of their time looking to their outer world for guidance and behavioral cues — not pursuing their desires, but following “collective directives.”

By “collective directives,” I mean those messages we receive from “them.” We are, as a culture, bombarded by words, messages, signs, voices, and images — all telling us what to do. Our collective consciousness is full of limitations that were dreamed-up, decided upon, printed-up, and put into action by a very small group of people who don’t follow those same rules, or observe the same boundaries and limitations. We believe, collectively, what we are told — collectively. And we typically do what we are told, as well. Most do, anyway… But some still dream.

There are always those who ignore so-called “common-knowledge” in order to create their own reality. Instead of being lulled by the cultural and social hypnosis thrust upon them, dreamers do their dreaming in the waking state — with much more clarity than the average person could imagine. A little over a hundred years ago, the average American knew with complete certainty that men couldn’t fly in airplanes; they simply didn’t exist. But the Wright brothers believed otherwise; and they did not buy into “common-knowledge,” or “conventional wisdom.”

If you have a dream you want to realize, you’re going to have to think for yourself. If it is truly your dream, you are the only one who knows exactly what to do — whether you realize it, or not. Following the crowd, and listening to what others think, is not the most effective way to realize your dream. All great advances have been made by those who threw-out convention and believed in other solutions and realities; they first thought of an alternative, and then put their faith and action into doing something new and different. And then, when their thoughts, words, actions, and observations were all in-sync, a new reality was created.

Eleanor Roosevelt said, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams;” reminding us that you must first have dreams, and then harmonize with those dreams — see them as beautiful, infuse them with the energy and action of belief, and have faith that they are accomplished and real. If Orville and Wilbur Wright had walked around talking about how flying machines were stupid ideas, and anyone who wasted their time thinking about such things was a fool, they probably wouldn’t have experienced that feeling Mrs. Roosevelt was referring to when she said, “…believe in the beauty of…” It is that feeling that drives two perfectly sane and rational individuals to pursue the impossible — and achieve it!

If you have a dream, you should think about it. When you think of this dream, it should give you positive feelings (joy, happiness, excitement, peace, etc…) rather than negative feelings (worry, doubt, fear, etc…). Positive feelings mean you are in-synch, or harmonized, with your dream; keep thinking about it and adding to it. Negative feelings, on the other hand, indicate that you are out-of-sync, or out of alignment, with your dream; and, until you change your “polarity,” you’ll only attract “negative” versions of your dream — or versions that cause you to feel those same “negative” feelings you feel when thinking or talking about your dream.

Your dreams are real. You must not only believe they are real, however; you must believe in the “reality” of your dreams — believe they have already come to pass. If you don’t feel you possess adequate belief already, you will need to make belief — or, “Make Believe.” You do this by pretending you are living your dream until you feel the positive emotions you hope and expect to experience when your dream has passed into experience. This is how all great creators, composers, inventors, and innovators have done it — without exception. Like the song says, “Dreams can come true…if you are young at heart.” You must believe in the possibility and beauty of your dreams if you truly wish to harmonize, or “synchronize,” with them; and you must be in-sync with your dreams in order to fully experience that new reality.
