Update, courtesy of Rick Stoddard:
Here’s an update for you in regards to the pre-release OPUS CD: I bought the CD at an event Doug spoke at. I think they are going to available on the internet site soon. But they also had a flyer saying you could get them by calling (Canada) 403.708.0712. The flyer also states that the CD is limited to only 10,000 units. Which will make them a collector’s item for sure. At the event Doug’s staff told us that most of them are already sold out. Various groups are buying them up in lots of 100 - 500 units. I paid $14.95 and I bought three of them. But I saw others who were buying more than that.
Again, my favorite part was the music. It is incredible. Inspiring. Powerful. Grnadf. I don’t know what else to say. I am blown away. I am SO eager now to see the film.
Another quick update to mention - Doug did talk a little bit about the film at the end of the presentation I was at on Nov 24. He said that there will soon be a list of official screening dates and locations on the website. He said there will be several through canada and the US and I also remember hearing something about the film premiering in South Africa too.
It was really exciting to start to hear this news. He also had all kinds of banners and materials for The Opus at this event. It was almost electric. So many people were talking about the film it was unbelievable. I also took some of the marketing material they were giving out which included postcards that feature portraits of the speakers. Very cool.
That’s all for now.
Thank You, Rick.

I’m looking for to seeing the trailers. I am confident that The Opus will be bigger and better than The Secret. But we’ll have to wait and see.

I went to the screening of the Opus last night in Edmonton. This was a great experience. The film is so much more than the secret. It was deeper and more practical on every level. The film was just awesome. I bought a copy and have already watched it again this morning. I am so excited. This film has the tools to take anyone to their goals easily and more surely.
The event was awesome too. Scott Duncan the violinist from the film played and several speakers spoke. They were all so great. I especially thought Douglas Vermeeren was extremely powerful. He is an amazing individual. And he has created an amazing film.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FILM.
If you are interested in personal development in any way. SEE IT!
March 29th, 2008 at 6:04 pm
I also went to the premiere of The Opus in Edmonton. It was a great movie. The place was packed. It was crazy. But the energy was good. The film is so much more than a sequel to the secret. The secret was great. But it left a lot missing. This film actually gave me steps I could do and things to think about TODAY. it was not a new agey conversation about energy. It was powerful realistic invitation to action. And not just action - the right kind of actions to take. I highly recommend it as the best personal development movie ever made. The other thing I liked about it was that those teachers from the secret that made it into this movie actually got share some depth. I almost got the feeling that what they said in the secret was only part of their stories. This film is so much better.
I didn’t get to the speaking part of the event. it happened earlier in the day - but after having seen the film and talking with a few people I wish I would have. It sounded really good too. So if the Opus is comign to your town. I would encourage you to make sure you go. You won’t be disappointed and you will walk away 1000 times more powerful than when you walked in.
As a side note I met Douglas Vermeeren and his wife Holly after the event. They are the kindest people you could imagine. And they are so classy and full of grace to everyone. I know they must have had a long couple of days with all the screenings lately, but they were so kind and interested in everyone that they met. I watched from a distance in awe. The guy is really living the Opus and you can see what a difference it is making for him. If you get the chance to meet him you’ll see what I mean. Totally awesome guy.
March 29th, 2008 at 7:34 pm
Thank you, Lynn. Thank you, Clint.
It really means so much to me and all here that you created time to share your experiences.
Your appreciation is a reflection of you
Highest Regards

I went to the premiere in Edmonton and Calgary. And it was even better in Edmonton. There were too many people in Calgary and it felt a little bit like a frenzy. In Edmonton there were still alot of people but not as many. I got a chance to meet Douglas Vermeeren, but in Calgary we couldn’t even get close to him. There was a spekaing event in the afternoon in Edmonton too. It was great. Luan mitchell spoke and I bought her book, one of the other speakers from The Opus and I can’t remember his name. And then Doug Vermeeren spoke. He was awesome. I’d never heard him speak before, I was totally impressed. The Opus is a show you will not want to miss.
Now for the question everyone is asking… How does it compare to the Secret? The Opus far surpasses the Secret in everyway. The information is better, the story is better, the music is better, the feeling of inspiration is better. It is just an all around better movie. The secret was great for what they were trying to do, but this movie actually teaches you something useful. Go see it.
March 30th, 2008 at 11:40 pm
The Opus is by far the best personal development movie yet. As a resource or tool for people wanting to get to their goals it is second to none. It blew the secret completely out of the water. The only thing I really left with from the secret was “Thoughts become things.” The opus taught me far more than that. In fact, everything I actually needed to get started and get to my goals. It was awesome. Be sure to see it.
March 31st, 2008 at 1:52 am
I agree. The show was the greatest thus far. I think comparing it to the secret is not the best thing to do, because the secret isn’t even in the same league. Don’t get me wrong. It was a good show. But totally nothing but fluff for a new age crowd. It had no practical substance. The Opus was useful and powerful. It is a film that will change lives and actually make a difference for people. The secret can’t say that. A lot of people became inspired because of it. But let’s be honest it really didn’t give people much to apply in their lives. The Opus does. And for that I applaud the creators and all the participants. I know it is no easy understaking to create a film - my hat goes off to all of you. You are all so wonderful. Many thanks for putting out the world’s greatest film.
March 31st, 2008 at 5:57 pm
The Opus is by far the best presonal development movie ever. For the first time we have a film that delivers instead of just playing around with abstract ideas and non sense concepts. The Opus is practical, informative, entertaining, powerful and effective. I am definitely a fan and await with eagerness to watch what Mr. Vermeeren will be doing next. He has defintiely raised the bar on what is expected in films of this kind.

PRESS RELEASE by Stan Romero
THE OPUS
It’s not a secret anymore… The Next step has arrived.
From Vision To Plan To Performance.
The new motivational self help film has had its debut and the results are in. The Opus screened to sold out audiences in Canada and rave reviews. The two screenings in both Calgary and Edmonton had over 1500 and 1000 people in attendance respectively. Since those screenings internet blogs have been a buzz with thoughts from attendees like “This is the greatest personal development film ever.” “More practical tools than any other movie,” and “This film actually gave me the stuff needed to change my life.” (Google “The Opus Movie” and you’ll get a taste of what I mean.)
Producer, director and motivational speaker Douglas Vermeeren is pleased. But feels the project isn’t yet where we would like to see the finished product. “There are still a few things I would like to tighten up and tweak before we get to Chicago on May 1.” May 1st, 2008 is slated to be the official US premiere of the film, although the film will be screening for another sold out audience in Las Vegas later this month. “May 1st is a special day for us as it will be the first time we can share the film with the US public. And many of our cast, crew and speakers will be present for Chicago.”
Critics and laymen alike agree that this film is definitely the practical answer that everyone has been looking for since the 2006 release of the new age advice film The Secret. An internet Blogger who identified himself as “Jacob L.” said it this way: “ The Opus is by far the best personal development movie ever. For the first time we have a film that delivers instead of just playing around with abstract ideas and non sense concepts. The Opus is practical, informative, entertaining, powerful and effective.”
And I wholeheartedly agree.

The Opus was great. I am really excited to see what will happen for this film over the next while. There are many that I spoke with who are involved in the film industry and they are quite excited about it. I have heard more than one person suggest that this film will win several awards because of the dynamic and powerful story, the professional look of the film and more. I am a filmmaker myself and agree. it was very well done.
I just recently saw the Secret and although I liked it, I would have to say that from a technical point of view and as a viewer The Opus is a stronger movie. And here’s a reasons why:
The Opus had a brilliant narrative running through out. It got the audience engaged and the narrative also instructed and was relevant to the lessons taught.
The Opus has a progression of concepts, while the Secret shared the same information again and again only with different episodes inside the film. (Many of which did not relate to me at all - ie. A gay commedian, a girl on a beach looking for love, or a guy in his house looking at post cards of elephants.) The Opus is audience sensitive.
The Opus also provided practical, measurable information for the viewer. The Secret spoke about a mysterious law that really is more feeling than anything.
The Opus had appropriate visuals through out, The Secret I felt robbed the vault of stock photography available on the internet to anyone.
The Musical score of the Opus also told the story. It felt custom built, while the Secret felt like it also came from a pre-recorded library.
The Opus did not discount the faith of it’s viewers. Many different thoughts were expressed yet none were discounted. I have read for a long time this battle the Secret created with christians and others. As I watched the film I could really see how the New Age thoughts of The Secret overshadowed their message.
Feel free to share your thoughts, I love to discuss these kinds of things….

I loved The Opus. I think it was a great movie. I thought the information was great and the speakers were wonderful. I also loved the story. I wish there were more movies like this. I want to thank Douglas Vermeeren for making it. I hope he makes many more movies. If you haven’t seen the film yet I would encourage you to see it.
April 14th, 2008 at 12:43 am
I just saw the Opus. I loved it! I think it was probably the best film of late in the motivational world. I loved it. I also saw the moses code and secret and loved the Opus far more. The story was far better and the information 100% far more practical. It was awesome. See it. I highly recommend it! 10 stars!!!!
April 20th, 2008 at 4:36 pm
I saw the Opus in Lads vegas. what an incredible movie. I enjoyed it much better than “The Secret” it had the audience Laughing, crying and feeling totally inspired to do great things. I will be sharing it with my entire organization and telling everyone I know. I believe that The Opus will change the world.
April 21st, 2008 at 4:59 pm
The Opus was great. I also saw it at the Las Vegas showing. I think it is a great movie. I see on the internet many people are saying it is better than the secret. I would totally agree. This film is inspiring and valuable. I left the theater feeling like I had real answers as to what I can do to get to my dreams. It was truly a blessing. I also believe that The Opus will change the world.
April 22nd, 2008 at 6:23 pm
I also saw “the Opus” at the Direct sellers Womens Alliance in Las Vegas. This was my first convention for this group that I have ever attended. I enjoyed it very much but I would have liked to hear more about The Opus. They had many of the speakers there, but not one of them spoke (except Jack Canfield.) But he spoke mostly about the Secret. I feel, like many other people, that The Opus was a far better and more in-depth movie and I would have liked to hear more about The Opus. don’t get me wrong, Jack was a fabulous speaker. But frankly his thoughts from The Secret really didn’t give me anything new or helpful. It was just a lot of feel good stuff. The Opus on the other hand was very inspiring and left me wanting more. I wish Jack would have spoken more about The Opus. It’s the new project - the secret is now over two years old. Anyways, that’s just my opinion….
April 23rd, 2008 at 7:22 pm
I loved The Opus. I thought it was a great movie. I don’t want to compare it to the other movies because they are great too. But I just wanted to say how much I loved the Opus. Thanks to doug Vermeeren for making it. Great work.

Tonight is the night. The chicago premiere. I am pretty excited. I have been following the Opus for quite some time. I have been additionally excited as I have read some of the reviews of the film and chatted with people that have seen it. I am confident that The Opus will be inspiring and life changing. I will report back my review.

Thanks, Trudy!
Enjoy, and eagerly anticipating your return.
May 3rd, 2008 at 3:15 pm
The film was wonderful. I really enjoyed it and highly put my stamp of approval on it. I joined a cocahes affiliate program and will now begin to show it to everyone I know. The Opus was wonderful. It really was. I also had a chance to meet the creator and his wife. They are really great people. I have met alot of PD leaders and authors and I think Doug Vermeeren has just become my favorite. He was an excleenet speaker on the panel, but more importantly there is a genuine honesty and humility about him that is so genuine and kind. He even apologized and thanked me for waiting patiently for him, almost treating me as though my time was more important than his. I felt like someone very special as I spoke with him, And his wife is very enchanting. as I waited to speak with him. I spoke with her. not only is she one of the most beautiful ladies I have seen, she is a very stunning person, her personality and interest in me was also surprising. They are an incredible couple. If Doug ever runs for President it would be just like having the Kennedys back in the white house. such elegance and class. I will support the Opus in everyway I possibly can. This movie will change things for people.

The Opus rocks!!!!! I loved it. It was far better than the Secret. The Secret tried to be all mysteriuous but delivered little value. The Opus gave me stuff I could use. This is such a better movie! Hands down. No competition. The story was also awesome. Definitely a stronger movie. See it. You will also be impressed.
May 25th, 2008 at 2:44 am
I saw the Opus at the for Zrii convention in Salt Lake city. It was by far the highlight of the event. It was such a wonderful movie. I really wish they would have publicized it more. It was worth coming just to see the movie. Douglas Vermeren also spoke. He was really good too. Probably in the top three speakers of the best speaker the entire convention. Really inspiring. It was a great event.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:14 pm
I saw the Opus movie in scottsdale Arizona! What an incredible movie. It was by FAR better than the Secret or any other movie to come out yet. It had the audience so inspired they were crying. It was so moving and inspiring. WHAT WILL YOUR OPUS BE should be the question that the everyone on the planet asks. It was amazing./
Before the film douglas Vermeeren the creator of the film spoke. Not only di he create such an amazing film, but he is the most powerful speaker I have ever heard. He is without question the best. He moved people and inspired them in such a way as I have never seen before. He was incredible. There is no other way to describe how amazing this experience was.
The rest of the day was really fun too, but these were the highlights for me.

The Opus was an amazing film. I loved it. It was truly inspiring and the teachers were great. This is definitely a film I will be showing all my family, friends and students. This movie is a must see.
June 2nd, 2008 at 11:21 pm
I really liked The Opus and I think one of the reasons it is becoming so successful is the simple fact that it is simple and straight forward. There are alot of useful goal setting tools that are out there, but many of them make the process very complex. The Opus was a fresh look at something that many people struggle with and as such it was very impactful. I am confident that we will hear of this film soon on Oprah and the like. It has a powerful and inspiring message that is destined to touch many people in a very significant way. How wonderful! Keep it up Opus creators.
June 6th, 2008 at 2:47 pm
The Opus is truly a great and powerful film. It really has touched my life and the life of my family. I won’t get into details, but this message of hope and inspiration has diverted a major tragedy in my family and I believe saved the life of my son. There were several particular messages that resonated with him so powerfully that I cannot say how grateful I am for The Opus. It is truly a miraculous production inspired by the hand of God. I cannot say thank you enough. My heart is so full of gratitude towards Mr. Vermeeren for making this film. They say that by looking at a painting you can see into the soul of the painter. This film speaks louder of the kind of soul he has. Bless You. You have no idea how you have helped us with what seemed like an insurmountable obstacle in our home. Thank you. Thank you. Thank You.
June 6th, 2008 at 11:39 pm
The Opus was also a very significant and powerful influence on my life too. I was in deep depression because of several things in my past not working out. I was in a situation of relative despair. I don’t want to say that the Opus cured me, but it really got me thinking differently. I am glad I saw it and know that it will be a power for good for many people. Thank God for that movie!
June 7th, 2008 at 3:47 pm
The Opus has changed my life and the lives of several of my family members. We have discovered a greater purpose in giving back and sharing joy with others. We have always talked about helping in our community - but the Opus has inspired us to really make a difference. To take action and create our Opus Now. We have already felt the joy and benefit from being part of the legacy the Opus is creating!
June 9th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
I liked the Opus too. definitely more of a life changer than the Secret.
June 11th, 2008 at 2:10 pm
I think the Opus is a great movie. I found it very inspiring and interesting. I really liked the mucis too. I hope that more of these kinds of movies come out. I think they will change the world.
June 21st, 2008 at 4:32 pm
I finally saw the Opus. It was great. It was everything I expected and more. I was really impressed with how easy it was for me to understand now. The secret left me with a lot of questions, but noiw I get it. This was a great movie. I am so excited to recommend it to everybody. You need to see this movie!

I loved The OPus. I just saw it today. I had heard all the hype about it - and I wasn’t really sure to expect. But I loved it. I thought it was very well done. I’ll tell you I never heard of alot of the teachers in the film before today, but they all did such a great job. I loved elizabeth Fayt and Ed Rush. My favorite was of course Doug Vermeeren. But everyone did such a great job. This movie is destined to be big. I am sure of it.
July 18th, 2008 at 5:58 pm
I want to also applaud the Opus. I thought it was a fantastic film. I learned alot and was quite impressed with the film overall. I wish thm great success and look forward to many other projects for Douglas Vermeeren.
July 18th, 2008 at 10:22 pm
Douglas Vermeeren is definitely one fo the freshest personalities to come along in the personal development field in a long time. His approach to teahcing is unique, insightful and powerfully effective. I loved The Opus of course. But I loved Doug Vermeeren live better. He was great. If you get the chance to hear him speak take that opportunity.
August 11th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
I saw the Opus recently and I loved it. I am glad to see blogs like yours talking about this incredible and important movie. it is a great film and goes beyond anything out there currently for teaching people how to create an ideal life and one of contribution. I think it far surpasses the Secret and gives people much more that they can do.
August 13th, 2008 at 7:00 am
Thank you Paul for adding to this rampage of appreciation.
We’re not only talking about The Opus, we’re taking action. For example, we’re translating it into Dutch to help our Dutch-speaking Visitors.
Hoping you’ll return and share with us how you are applying the information to life.
Peace,
Jane

The Opus was really good. I think it is very useful for people to see. I thought it was very different than what I expected. But in a positive way. I was expecting another movie with mysterious messages and not alot of aaplicable informaiton. I was wrong. The Opus was easy to understand and worthwhile reasonable content that you can do something with. It was a good.
I would be intersted in learning more about the Opus. Are these teachers going to do a tour like The secret people have been doing?
August 29th, 2008 at 9:49 pm
I just finished the Maximum Achievement course with Douglas Vermeeren. It was incredible. If you ever get the chance to go. Do it! I learned so much and I am so pumped now to get to my goals. But not just pumped I actually learned stuff that will make it possible. definitely one of the best courses I have ever been too.
August 30th, 2008 at 9:10 pm
The course is called Accelerated Achievement. And it is great. But it’s not called Maximum achievement - It’s Accelerated Achievement - Just though you should know.
