This is a great set of clips. I have heard Douglas Vermeeren speak live and he is one of the greatest speakers I have ever heard. He leaves you understanding how to accomplish great things. I highly encourage anyone who gets the chance to go and hear him speak!
The Opus is going to be a fantastic movie too. Check on YouTube for more clips from other great speakers like Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, Joe Vitale and others from The Secret.
I am definitely a fan of anything this team is involved in!

I am also interested to know more about the Opus movie. Here’s some interesting news: I just bought the pre-release CD with the music from the film on it and I am so pumped. It is incredible. The interview with Douglas Vermeeren and Jack Canfield was really good too. I have heard that this CD is limited in quantity. I bought several of them at a speaking event where Doug Vermeeren spoke. But I here the Opus website will have them on sale too if they haven’t already sold out. Everybody was buying them at the event.
I also agree that Doug is an amazing speaker. And like Jennifer I would encourage everyone to take advantage of hearing him speak if the opportunity becomes available. I have been involved with personal development seminars and listening to speakers for year. Doug is powerful and profound. He is very different than most speakers in that he is not only an expert at entertaining his audience, he also shares valuable and clear information. I believe that he is the next Napoleon Hill, Tony Robbins and Dale Carnegie rolled into one.
December 5th, 2007 at 10:26 pm
I bought the pre-release CD too. I liked it also also. There is no question the music from The Opus is awesome. It is so powerful. It was my favorite part of the CD. I enjoyed the interviews as well. But the music was what did it for me. I am so excited to see The Opus.
And I also have heard Doug Vermeeren speak. I liked him a lot too. However I think the praise others are giving him is maybe a bit bold - (I don’t think he’ll replace Carnegie or Hill (Robbins maybe) but there is no doubt that Vermeeren will leave a significant mark on the world. He is a good teacher and knows how to work an audience - but like most of the Gurus today he is not really sharing anything new.
Having said that I have to confess I am a fan and although he is not as profound as I would like - he is definitely worth listening to.

Thank You, Jason.

Another Fan of Doug! Wonderful. Welcome Rick

Would love to know more about the pre-release CD content.
Eagerly anticipating the soundtrack now!
Thank You.

Here’s an update for you in regards to the pre-release OPUS CD: I bought the CD at an event Doug spoke at. I think they are going to available on the internet site soon. But they also had a flyer saying you could get them by calling 403.708.0712. The flyer also states that the CD is limited to only 10,000 units. Which will make them a collector’s item for sure. At the event Doug’s staff told us that most of them are already sold out. Various groups are buying them up in lots of 100 - 500 units. I paid $14.95 and I bought three of them. But I saw others who were buying more than that.
Again, my favorite part was the music. It is incredible. Inspiring. Powerful. Grnadf. I don’t know what else to say. I am blown away. I am SO eager now to see the film.
Another quick update to mention - Doug did talk a little bit about the film at the end of the presentation I was at on Nov 24. He said that there will soon be a list of official screening dates and locations on the website. He said there will be several through canada and the US and I also remember hearing something about the film premiering in South Africa too.
It was really exciting to start to hear this news. He also had all kinds of banners and materials for The Opus at this event. It was almost electric. So many people were talking about the film it was unbelievable. I also took some of the marketing material they were giving out which included postcards that feature portraits of the speakers. Very cool.
That’s all for now.

You’ll notice I haven’t shared my name. That’s because the information I am leaking to you cannot be traced back to me. But I assure you it is accurate. You’ll notice that on the Opus website that the link for who is involved is no longer active - The reason why is that the cast list has changed. Many who were shot for the film DID NOT make it into the final cut.
I have an inside source who says that those who are DEFINITELY CONFIRMED ARE: Douglas Vermeeren, Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, Joe Vitale, Marci Shimoff, John Demartini, Bob Doyle, Morris Goodman, Joe Rubino and Bill Bartmann. Those were the only names that was told are definitely making the final cut. And I was told that many have been cut out. Just thought you might find that interesting.
As to your question about the pre-release CD. I got a few of them too. It is without a doubt an incredible piece of music. The interview is pretty good too - but the music was most definitely the most fantastic part. I would also encourage all to check it out - YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
December 11th, 2007 at 2:05 pm

Transmitting, more news on The Opus movie, please universe!
I notice a link has changed on that site. Now, ‘Who is the Opus?’ and it simply says, ‘Stay tuned for the final cast list.’
I wonder who has been let go and who has been selected.
Keep your ear to the ground!

I found a profile for Doug on Facebook and it says that currnetly he is working on The Opus movie. There is also a fan club there too.
I have been following these posts for quite sometime and I have also heard Doug speak. I would agree with everyone so far. He is an excellent and highly entertaining speaker. He has a real gift at making you feel like you can achieve great success. I am also blown away at how profound he has been, but how easy he is to follow in his explanations. That is truly the mark of a great teacher. Above in the comments someone compared him to Napoleon Hill, Dale carnegie and Tony Robbins. I think that Doug is certainly destined to be a name long remembered among these greats. It is important to remember that Doug is just beginning his career - he is a young man. And already achieved so much in his career. If he continues as he has begun he will surpass them all. Most of those mentioned didn’t have great success or recognition until they were much older. I have a feeling that those who follow his career will see astounding things yet to come.
I am excited to see The Opus and am confident that it will be just as great as The Secret.
definitely I am a fan and supporter.
December 19th, 2007 at 11:17 am
Thank You, Todd.
Great find.
Facebook. Of course!
Super Cyres Spotting x 2
Douglas sounds genuine and an example of someone who walks their talk. Turning potential into performance. I hope he comes to Belgium soon. And to the Amazing Destination that is Cyres Cafe, on-world in Antwerp … and, on-line, here! Wouldn’t that be WoW-Wonderful.
‘I have a feeling that those who follow his career will see astounding things yet to come.’ … we will be there, expecting to be astounded.
What a Joy!
This morning I was looking at Doug’s book, ‘testimony’, and then read this, ‘Douglas Vermeeren has taught the gospel as a full-time missionary in Belgium’ … he’s been here already! … hopefully we can get him back on Belgian soil soon, to plant forward his wisdom and wit.
What Douglas Vermeeren books have people joining this discussion read?
Again, thanks Todd. Much appreciated. Keep your ear tuned for more on The Opus Movie. We are hungry for information and insights.
December 21st, 2007 at 11:59 pm
Does anyone have any info on Who was cut from the film? I am curious to know as I have a few friends that were interviewed to be part of the film. I can understand why they are cutting some of the people out - the secret had only about 25 people interviewed in the film. I assume The Opus will be similar. Does anyone have any thoughts on what criteria there are using to determine who will make it in or not.
Also I found the link for the Opus pre-release CD on the Opus site. I have just ordered mine and have’t gotten it yet. But I look forward to lisening to it. THIS FILM IS GOING TO BE AWESOME!
My congratulations to Douglas Vermeeren for being the right person to put this film together! I haven’t heard him speak, but I have met him and read a few of his books AMAZING SUCCESS and ACCELERATED ACHIEVEMENT. He is one of the most dynamic and interesting people I have ever met. I was surprised at how genuine and kind he is. He took time for everyone and even thanked me for being patient as I waited to shake his hand. His information is also really insightful and clear. I look forward to hearing him speak in the future.
Are they having any OPUS screenings in Belgium?
December 22nd, 2007 at 12:24 am
Just checking out The Opus and I am also really looking forward to seeing it. It looks exciting. I really enjoyed the Secret too. Hopefully this film answer the questions that were left behind. Douglas Vermeeren seems like a pretty ambitious fellow. I have watched the Youtube clips and checked out his site. He seems really young. Anyone know how old he is. (And if he is single? Just kidding - he’s very cute.) His information is really good which surprises me because he is so young. I look forward to seeing the Opus and I also look forward to having the chance to hear him speak live in the future.

Ryan, Welcome
Glad you joined in.
Thanks for contributing to this rampage of appreciation and inspiration for more information.
I am asking for and searching for info on Who was cut from The Opus movie.
The ‘Who is the Opus?’ link at www.theopusmovie.com is still saying, ‘Stay tuned for the final cast list.’.
Your friends that were interviewed to be part of the film, did they tell you anything about it yet?
Would love your view of The Opus pre-release CD, when you receive it.
‘Are they having any OPUS screenings in Belgium?’
Don’t see any screenings listed for Belgium yet.
Cyres Cafe is centred in Belgium, in the heart of Antwerp, so I’ll be looking into the possibilities of screenings here.
Yes, would love to screen The Opus movie in our screening room at Cyres Cafe Antwerp! Wouldn’t that be wonderful.
Stay tuned and share your thoughts. We’re thirsty for a second glass

Yes, admiration is a good way to experience the Appreciation vibe!
Well, we are here talking about the Law of Attraction!!!
I am guessing that you can’t find a release date for The Opus film because they are still working on it and haven’t confirmed the release date enough to make it public.
Let’s keep listening out for the answer.
Asking the questions.
Taking thought beyond.
Sounds like The Opus is about taking action and we are taking action here by writing out our thoughts and sharing.

Hi I am back. Here’s some info that I have discovered for those seeking for Opus answers. The film is almost done. They are in post production right now with scheduled release dates for early March. The VIP events will be listed on the internet in the next few weeks. These events will be open to the public and several of them have already sold out. If you want your tickets for these you will have to act fast. The first premiere will be in Los Angeles. If you are looking to have a screening in Belgium you need to get in touch with Aggie Kobrin who is the coordinator of all Opus events. I am sure they will do it as they have been adding a ton of dates for where they want to go.
As for the cast, yes, lots of people have been cut from the film and you will be very surprised when you see who did and didn’t make it. The rumor is in January they will start putting the pictures back up one at a time every few days to keep people on the edge of their seats.
I have heard a rumor that Oprah Winfrey is looking at booking speakers from The Opus to come on in the new year and I also heard that Larry King Live has also contacted the Opus crew. It will be an interesting year.
December 23rd, 2007 at 11:18 pm
Hi, and thank you so much for being here
Have been eagerly hoping for your return.
Glad, and grateful, that you’re back.
This info is greatly appreciated.
Your discoveries are Delicious!
You are Delightful.
Seekers of Opus answers are applauding.
Yey, the film is almost done!
Much joyful and eager anticipation of the adventure expanding.
Scheduled release dates for early March is wonderful, because Cyres Cafe Antwerp will be open then. Fabulous news.
Intending to watch The Opus in The Cafe.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness, we’ll get in contact with Aggie Kobrin.
We are on the leading edge of our seats!
So excited about the potential of this movie to inspire change for the highest good.
Oprah and Larry King possibilities. Oh yes, Opus opportunities in the upper octaves! Sensational. Here’s hoping.
Looking forward to the delightful surprise of who made it into the movie.
Exciting!
Maybe next time round they’ll ask us at Cyres Cafe!
Wouldn’t that be Fun!
On the edge of the edge … Will keep an eye on the site, daily, and report back here. May I ask all to be on the look out and share new insights.
Together we are totally tuned in.
WOW Yes, it will indeed be an interesting year.
Hope to share it with You.

Merry Christmas everyone! I thought I’d take aminute and share a quick seasons greetings to everyone. Today is Christmas day and I only had a quick minute - so I picked this blog to share some Opus cheer. First of all, my most sincere thanks and appreciation to all who are supporting the Opus project and have been so kind to me and my associates in our efforts to share. And a warm hearted thank you for all of your kindenss and support wherever we may go in the world. You are all such an important part of the world I am doing. Thank you.
So … Here are some answers to some of the questions I have seen around.
Yes, the film will be released in early March.
Yes. There are some people that are being cut from the film. Not because of the strength of their message , but rather because of the length of the film. We interviewed so many amazing people. everyone of which I could recommend without reservation, but the film (which is going to be around 90 minutes) will only allow for us to share so much.
Yes, We will be showing the film in a variety of locations around the world and a calendar will be posted on the website in the New Year.
Yes, I would love to return to Belgium and I am confident that we can make that happen.
Yes, The film will be available to purchase at each of these events and also online. The live events will feature exclusive Opus materials that will not be available anywhere else.
Yes,many of our speakers will be touring with the film. (including many of the gang you saw in The Secret and elsewhere.)
Yes, My son is in the film. (and so is my wife.) But I won’t tell you what they are doing yet. You’ll have to wait and see.
Here’s a hint though: My son Jared shared one of his goals with me - so I am going to help him make it happen with The Opus. Afterall, people do come to me with help for their goals.
Our new friend actress Jessica Biel was not able to be involved in the film. But her Father, Brother and mother did have some significant involvement in the film. And one of the reasons I bring them up is because it is christmas time. Please if you do get a chance check out something incredibly wonderful the Biel’s are involved with. it’s called “Make The Difference Network.” It’s the perfect time of year to make a difference for someone who could really use your help. And remember if you don’t help - who will? check it out www.Makethedifferencenetwork.com
I look forward to seeing you all at the premiere of The Opus
Merry Christmas everyone!

This is a really interesting discussion. I think this wioll be one of the greatest movies of all time. I think Doug Vermeeren is 100% the right guy to put this film together. He is an awesome speaker. He is entertaining, Insightful and energetic. Totally kind-hearted and wonderful to talk to. If this movie is in his hands it can’t help but be fantastic. I am eagerly awaiting this incredible movie. You go Doug! You totally rock!!!!
December 31st, 2007 at 2:41 am
Sorry, just one other thought from reading the blog above. Yes, I do think Doug’s career will surpass alot of these other top motivators too. (Tony Robbins, Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie etc.) One of the reasons I feel this will happen is because Doug doesn’t only teach this stuff he lives it. The is a reason the media calls him THE Achievement Expert. And that’s because he is a top achiever! Alot of those other guys were just teachers - they didn’t really accomplish the incredible things like Doug has. Doug doesn’t just teach Goal Setting - he has accopmlished hundreds of amazing goals himself. Goals that most people want to do. He knows how to get there. Take a lot at his bio video on Youtube it’s pretty awesome. As you guessed by now - I am a fan! I have known him for a while and I am always amazed by what what he is doing. Trust me when I say you guys haven’t even seen 5% of what this guy is going to do in the world.
December 31st, 2007 at 11:36 am
Travis! Love your Talk!
Thank You for sharing.
This discussion is so interesting because people like you add to it.
We’re in this together.
It is so thrilling to read a page of appreciation.
I love the generosity of people we attract here.
We too appreciate those who walk their talk.
Joyfully anticipating the 5% and the 95%.
When you hear news, please share. It opens doors for so many.

Since I have opted to make Doug Vermereen my role model, I have been following the 12 fundamental principles in Amazing Success and have more than doubled my income, connected with some amazing people who have come on board to support my mega-project and have launched my website and my 4 volume book is at the publishers, all thanks to principles that work! I have read all 5 of his books and stand here to tell you is is authentic and his wife Holly is just as exceptional as he is. It is an honor to know them both.
January 1st, 2008 at 5:14 pm
Just another suggestion: Find out where he is speaking next - a book is great but the spirit/ fire he carries with him is what lights the spark in us. He speaks all over Canada and the States, but internationally as well. If you have a group that needs a spark lit - call him asap.
January 1st, 2008 at 8:39 pm
I have experienced the same progress with my efforts. There have been a lot of teachers that have taught goal setting and success, but Mr. Vermeeren is by far the best that I have heard. He is able to make complex ideas simple and instantly applicable to daily life. I have attended many other motivational speakers and many of them were good too, btu all too often I found that once they were finished speaking I was left without anything significant that I had learned. He is a relaly good speaker. I don’t really know much about The Opus. Can any one tell me more? All I know is that it is a movie like The Secret, and I didn’t see that yet either.

Also appreciating your talk of progress and praise.

I heard Doug Vermeeren speak last night for the first time. Great job. I was really inspired. He talked about the importance of Decision in the achievement process. He did talk a little bit about the Opus movie. it sounds really exciting. Outisde in the hallway they had all kinds of impressive banners for the film. It looks like its going to be a great film. I have to admit it also looks like a much bigger production than what I had thought it would be. I was thinking it was going to be a well-made low key DVD like The Secret. But it looks more like a major Hollywood release. Thanks for keeping us in the loop on this blog. I’ll be watching and reading.
January 11th, 2008 at 1:56 am
Welcome, Kim

I was at the event on Jan 9. It was at the university of Calgary. Doug did an awesome job. He is such a great speaker and it was an awesome way to begin the new year. Doug is truly the acheivement expert. I now feel more confident in being able to set and reach my goals for 2008. I am also very excited about the Opus. This is going to an incredible film. I spoke with him after the event and I heard him say that most of the gang from The Secret (Jack Canfield, Morris Goodman, Bob Doyle, Marci Shimoff, John DeMartini, Joe Vitale etc.)did make the final cut into the movie. So I was excited about that. One of my favorite parts of the evening was after the event. Doug took time and chatted with a group of us and shared some stories and insights from the making of the film. He talked about some of the challenges he bumped into and also some of the really cool stories on how things have worked out so wonderfully. I asked him if they were going to be on the Oprah Winfrey show and he just smiled and said we’ll see. But I am sure that was a disguised YES. He also talked about the story in The Opus. He also said they are doing things very different than The Secret. Wherin the Secret had small cutaways with illustrations from the speakers about the law of attraction, The Opus actually has a story that follows one character through the film. He also said that in one of the scenes both he and his wife are acting. Which I think is totally incredible. She is very beautiful. I heard a story that they actually met on a movie set. I also heard him say that they have many highly accomplished Hollywood people helping put the film together. The camera man for the story segments I think was from Brokeback Mountain, and the costumer has done dozens of hollywood films too. I am SO excited to see this film I can’t even describe it. And he said the first screening will be in Los Angeles in mid-march.I I plan on being there. And a calendar will be posted on The Opus website shortly with other dates and locations. That’s all for now.

I got thsi e-mail that proports to be from The Producer of The Opus. Mr. Douglas Vermeeren.
To all my friends involved in The Opus,
Recently we made some changes to the cast list which included dropping Jennifer Alexander from our cast list. The decision was made mutually because of artistic differences in my film. As a result The Opus cruise was cancelled. And ties with Cliff and Jennifer were severed. Since then I have taken notice that Jennifer and Cliff have undertaken a campaign to contact my investors, associates, friends and family members to undertake a slander campaign. This is not acceptable. I am currently taking legal action to remedy this. If left unchecked this action could hurt all of us and our interest in the film.
I can understand why the alexanders would be upset. This is a significant project that will have countless benefits for the participants. But this gives them no right to begin such activities as this. Please record all challenging interactions with them and forward them to us as we have been requested by our legal team to keep documentation. And thank you to all of you who have sent me these already. It is my most definite intention that if such efforts continue we will be seeking damages at their hands.
But just so everyone has a clear understanding - all aspects of the film are moving forward as originally planned. Our relase date is still confirmed for March 19 in Los Angeles. And all projected returns stand as originally predicted. We have all support from each of the speakers and growing support from local and national media. I am very excited about the great things that are heading our way. It is going to be a great movie and a fantastic year.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions,
Douglas Vermeeren

This is the thread of confirmation …
SUBJECT: authenticity and integrity
Hallo Douglas
It’s Jane at Cyres Cafe in Belgium. As you may have noticed (!), I’m a sincere supporter and appreciator of your work. We’re also gathering great enthusiasm and support for The Opus project here. More and more people are emailing us regarding The Opus. Today this is on the blog and I want to ask you if it is authentic. I believe in free speech, but if this is not verified as you, I will remove it:

I truly believe The Opus is the possibility of inspiring many in magnificent ways. Excited to be observing its unfolding. For about 7 or 8 months now, we’ve been encouraging talk about it, and stimulating thought about it more and more, evolving the energy, hoping that we can help to spread the word on-line, and on-world in Belgium. Vision~in~action.
Indeed, a fantastic year.
Highest Regards
Jane
Hi Jane,
Yes, that e-mail did come from our offices. Jennifer Alexander was cut from the film. We could not ethically support the way she was doing business and trying to represent herself in regards to the film. We tried to correct the problems on several occassions but to no avail. It is unfortunate that she has undertaken to proceed in the way she has, but it also confirms to us that we made the right choice to severe ties with her.
On a positive note we are excited about what’s happening with the Opus. We are now starting to see the first glances of the final finished product. it is incredible. I was excited to experience a really neat thing the other day when I had a significant Hollywood producer congratulate me on the story elements of the film. He told me it was one of the strongest pieces he had seen in a long time. I too, am also very excited about how the film is looking and I am confident that people will be very pleased with what our team has worked so hard to create.
I wanted to also take a minute and thank you for all your support for myself and The Opus. You have been so kind and such a wonderful supporter. I am very grateful. I look forward to meeting you in person when we are in Europe later this year.
Thanks again,
Doug
Hi Doug,
Thank you for your reply and for its speed. I appreciate that you are super busy right now.
Unless I am certain a communication has come direct from its source, I always check its authenticity.
Cyres Cafe is open house. Open plan. Open mind. Open heart. We share all with our Cyres Family. You’ll see written in our vision that our building is “translucent”. We include most of our conversations in The Cafe of Dreams because that’s the nature of our building. Walking through barriers, we tell the whole story. If any information about your work is to be “private” due to you wanting to surprise or something of that consideration (I think most of us love delightful surprises), then please indicate so in our conversations and that aspect will respectfully remain confidential
Your authenticity, integrity, and ethical stand is never in question. I have spoken with enough people who have direct experience of you to know that you walk your AMAZING talk. With you, what you see is what you get, and I trust that The Opus project is an extension of that. So, we can be very … VERY … Excited!
Respecting your choices.
It’s all a positive note!
The Opus is oodles of positive notes!!! Powerful possibilities, indeed.
Loving the exciting unfolding of this event-experience-happening.
So incredible, we are hungry for more!
The appreciation from the Hollywood producer is sensational. Thank you Doug for sharing that. ‘Story’ by Robert McKee is close to hand at all times (Cyres Cafe is about Stories and Heroes) and I am often saying as I look out from Cyres Cafe, “Where is the story?!”. Elated to know, there is one in The Opus! Yes! Substance, structure, style, and, meaningful purpose. Plus, I am looking forward to your performance and observing more of your screen presence! Is it true that You AND Holly are included on screen?!
It does take a huge team effort, with hard work, as you say, to create an experience of such quality. Sure people would be amazed if they knew how much time and energy goes into it.
That makes this minute you have taken, to share with me and Cyres Cafe, all the more significant and special. Thank you for the light you shine on this matter, and for sharing highlights. Thank you for your inspiration and insights. We know you have a lot on your plate. In appreciation and support, anything we can do to add to the joy of the experience, please ask. It is about who you are. Indeed, we support You, we support your work, we support The Opus. We are gratitude expressing.
Heart-felt thanks for coming to Europe. Amazing destinations and powerful possibilities. Appreciating that you are including all and taking this experience to the whole world, and, touring beyond America so soon after completion of the film. You are refreshingly practical and innovative. Cyres Cafe is rolling out The Blue Carpet in eager anticipation of your arrival. Being vision~in~action, taking our Amazing Potential and Creating, we will do much between now and then to tune in and expand The Opus Odyssey.
I am also looking forward to meeting you in person and I expect there will be a big Cyres Crowd around me
Cheers, as we say in Cyres Cafe

I don’t know If I allowed to say much or not. So I’ll write annonymous as my name, but today I was on the set for the final three shooting days of the Opus. I was there with Douglas Vermeeren and all of the other cast people. Doug is a genius and a star. He not only wrote this incredible movie. But he is acting in this show. This movie is going to be incredible. what I saw of the story part of the Opus seems so touching and powerful. it takes place in the early 1900’s.
I don’t know the entire script but they had lots of old cars, sets and costumes and all kinds of things. It is definitely a big budget picture.
I overheard that the directory of Photography was the same guy that was on Brokeback Mountain - which you probably know was nominated for a ton of academy awards. I met Doug’s son Jared who is doing on of the lead roles in the film. he is such a cute kid. And I also met a fellow by the name of Scott duncan who is also palying on of the key roles. He was playing violin. I am not sure how it all fits together, but the film has such an epic feel. And it is so powerful. There was a scene done today that had everyone close to tears - it was so powerful. And then another with doug’s son that had everybody laughing and smiling. It was so great. It was a pleasure to be a part of it. I was excited and caught off guard at how friendly doug and his staff are. I honestly felt just like family. doug came right up to me and shook my hand and welcomed me to the set. I have been on a few other movies and I have never in my life had that happen where the prodcuer/director ever did that. What an awesome guy. Doug plays some kind of business man or reporter or something in the film. He was dressed in a suit with an old hat on. And his wife was there too. I don’t know what she is doing exactly - but she was there in costume. She is so beautiful.
they really looked great together.
there weren’t alot of actors on set today - but I am going back tomorrow and I was told that there is a big day for people on the set tomorrow. I will be sure to report back.

Thank You, Opus Extra
* * * * *
So great.
Welcome to The Cafe of Dreams
Appreciating that Extra (Supporting Artist) work can be a challenge. With early starts, late finishes, standing around, with little acknowledgement and appreciation. So …
how wonderful that you were treated so well on the set of The Opus movie yesterday … with more today!
I can understand that you were “caught off guard” by the friendliness on a film set. It’s not always the way, as you know.
Have you seen the tv series, “Extras”?! Yes, I know it’s fiction! ?
But then … this is The Opus. This is Douglas Vermeeren. We’re going to be able to taste the difference.
This is a different kind of movie all round.
Delightful that Doug is keeping it in the family.
Plus, to naturally create and extend the feeling of “family” is a beautiful quality that Douglas clearly expresses.
Ooo I love the feeling of “epic feel”. Roar!
How delicious that it will make us laugh, and, make us cry! That’s because they have focussed on Story (more wisdom!).
Yesterday I emailed Aggie Kobrin, with more information. Playing our part.
If I could (and maybe I can one day), I would walk right up to you and shake your hand. On behalf of all here, visiting this conversation thread every day for more news, I would like to extend our gratitude to you.
You are now in the Cyres Family.
Wishing you another great day on the set of this amazing movie.
Have Fun!
We are excitedly looking forward to you reporting back!
It gets better and better, and the better it gets, the better it gets.

Well, My second day was great too. Doug gave everyone a cast and crew t-shirt. They are very nice. He also had every single cast and extra sign some Opus posters which are being auctioned for charity. I never felt like such a star. I am truly amazed at how doug and his staff have made everyone of us feel so importnat to this production. At lunch time he hurried to eat his own lunch so he could even take a minute to tell us (normally considered insiginificant extras) how appreciative he was and how essential we were to creating such a powerful film. He then gave us tickets for our family and friends to come and see us at the first screening of The Opus. doug’s assistant Jami and his other assistant Garth also told about the film. I had no idea this was as big as it was. It is pretty exciting. I was chatting with other extras and they also agree they have never had an experience like this on set. It was actually kind of electric. The other thing that was so interesting is that whenever Doug called for even the littlest detail from the extras - everyone was so willing to help or do anything required. There was not one sound of grumbling. ( I think other Movie directors could really learn something here.) I didn’t know too much about doug Vermeren before this - but now I must confess I am a die-hard super fan and can’t say enought hings about this guy. I can understand now why so many people love him. Scott duncan played Violin again today and we were in many concert type scenes. I am guessing he is the lead role. He is an amazing violinist. I don’t know if I am back for another day - but tomorrow is the last day. I did tell a few other friends on the set about this blog and one of them said she was so impressed she will also write about what’s happening too.

WOW! I was able to come back for the last day. we finished really really late last ngiht but it was worth it. To begin I kind of got found out. I didn’t know that doug and his team read this blog regularly, and this is the only place I have written. But at lunch yesterday they mentioned that they saw someone (me) was writing about the film online. They weren’t upset. actually he said that he was flattered. How funny. I really didn’t think that they were paying that close attention to what is going on online. Anyways, here’s my report. Yesterday we were on a big ship again, dressed in old costumes from the 1900’s. doug’s son Jared was there again. He looks so cute. And wow, that kid can act. And he looks so much like his dad. I really don’t much about the scenes except that jared (doug’s son) looks like he lost something on the ship and is looking for it. It was really fun to be involved in this film. and now that I know doug and his team read this: I want to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. This was the best movie set I have ever been on and it was an absolute pleasure to be involved. it’s always sad to leave a “movie family” once the film is finished, but I have to admit it was especially hard on this one. I certianly hope already there will be an Opus 2. This was nothing short of magical. and if the film is even a fraction as powerful as what we experienced on the set this will be an incredible movie that will touch hearts and change peoples lives. I can’t say enough good things about this experience. I wish Doug Vermeren the greatest success with this film and I will be first in line to come see The Opus.

What is The Opus?
by Marlene Young
An Opus is “the most grandiose and memorable composition of a composer’s life and legacy”.
The Opus film outwardly tells the story of Vincenzo Vivaldi, his dream and his journey to his Opus. However, Mr. Douglas Vermeeren skillfully takes us simultaneously on a journey to ourselves; gifting us with timeless wisdom of great leaders, teachers and his own insights. The Opus illuminates the pattern available to all of us, to create and champion our own lives and careers. This film arouses past memories of who we wanted to be, rekindles dormant dreams and piece by piece pulls together the vision of who we know we can be. Through Vincenzo Vivaldi’s journey, we are infused with a driving life-force for our dream as Vincenzo was for his. From this vision of possibility, we are lead through the practical yet powerful magic of taking action. We are encouraged to step towards our incredible future, using our extraordinary enthusiasm for life. As we tap into our vision and put it into action we naturally and effortlessly create our masterpiece. The wonder of The Opus is that we are challenged to create not just the masterpiece of our own lives, but to create a giving legacy- a gift which continues to give, to inspire and challenge generations to come, so they too will leave their Opus for the benefit of the world.
Mr. Douglas Vermeeren, bursting with creative talents, influential charisma, and wise beyond his years created The Opus, sharing the stage with Dr. John DeMartini, Mark Victor Hansen, Frank Maguire, Bill Bartman, Jack Canfield and twenty eight other top leaders who have also helped others achieve greater success and happiness. Each of these speakers has their music to play, but together it creates a wonderful symphony which touches deep within. It is powerful. The principles work. It is but the beginning of a greater work to come for Mr. Vermeeren.
The Opus is the inspirational and personal development movie to see. Mr. Vermeeren has changed lives. He has saved lives. He is authentic. He lives his life as it were his own and invites all of us to do the same. Some people are called leaders. Douglas Vermeeren is the role model for our time. Do not miss the opportunity to be taught by him. It is worth its weight in gold.
June 27th, 2008 at 3:54 am
Someone asked me what principles I have put into practice from Doug’s book, Amazing Success. I have the list at my computer where I spend a lot of time. I believe in success through osmosis. I look at my principle list everyday since January and I went back through my goals I set at the same time. I have accomplished, just a few things for example:I have published all 4 volumes of my books; I sent them out (all 4 volumes) to all Calgary libraries; started the charity networking at C.U.P.S. (health center for street people); got my city license re-newed; designed new business cards; and sent news releases across Canada for the public launch of Peace Gardens; had my first book signing at Chapters; began a new business with Pampered Chef to have cash flow for my business, Paradise Gardens (the financier of PG.), have organized a home party networking group to raise funds for Peace Gardens; joined the community association as Park Liason to the City; designed and getting clearance from the city to build a community garden through a new association-City Roots Community Garden. This is on top of running a full time daycare.
How is all this possible in 6 months??? Build your life on good, sound and powerful principles. The one I currently like is to avoid procrastination. I would be watching some mindless tv, think about the procrastination principle - think I want to procrastinate and just take a break. Then I thought I could just do this little thing first, and then I would procrastinate. It works for me. Planned procrastination! It allows me to rebel a little, still keep on top of things, keep my focus and accomplish so much more. I have known Doug for a year now and cannot believe how much I have grown. He is amazing. He is such a powerful role model. I think I am doing good, then I look at him and have to run to catch up again. Everyone should be so lucky as to have a role model such as him.
Apologies for such long comments.
Marlene Young
