The Opus movie - World Premiere Event - Edmonton - with Douglas Vermeeren

Popularity: 36% [?]

March 28 was The Opus movie World Premiere Event in Edmonton, at the Delta South Hotel and Conference Centre, featuring “The Heart of New Business”.

I asked for reviews of The Opus, from Edmonton and beyond, and received another two today, thanks to Lynn and Clint:

I went to the screening of the Opus last night in Edmonton. This was a great experience. The film is so much more than the secret. It was deeper and more practical on every level. The film was just awesome. I bought a copy and have already watched it again this morning. I am so excited. This film has the tools to take anyone to their goals easily and more surely.

The event was awesome too. Scott Duncan the violinist from the film played and several speakers spoke. They were all so great. I especially thought Douglas Vermeeren was extremely powerful. He is an amazing individual. And he has created an amazing film.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FILM.

If you are interested in personal development in any way. SEE IT!

I also went to the premiere of The Opus in Edmonton. It was a great movie. The place was packed. It was crazy. But the energy was good. The film is so much more than a sequel to the secret. The secret was great. But it left a lot missing. This film actually gave me steps I could do and things to think about TODAY. it was not a new agey conversation about energy. It was powerful realistic invitation to action. And not just action - the right kind of actions to take. I highly recommend it as the best personal development movie ever made. The other thing I liked about it was that those teachers from the secret that made it into this movie actually got share some depth. I almost got the feeling that what they said in the secret was only part of their stories. This film is so much better.

I didn’t get to the speaking part of the event. it happened earlier in the day - but after having seen the film and talking with a few people I wish I would have. It sounded really good too. So if the Opus is comign to your town. I would encourage you to make sure you go. You won’t be disappointed and you will walk away 1000 times more powerful than when you walked in.

As a side note I met Douglas Vermeeren and his wife Holly after the event. They are the kindest people you could imagine. And they are so classy and full of grace to everyone. I know they must have had a long couple of days with all the screenings lately, but they were so kind and interested in everyone that they met. I watched from a distance in awe. The guy is really living the Opus and you can see what a difference it is making for him. If you get the chance to meet him you’ll see what I mean. Totally awesome guy.

The Opus movie from Douglas Vermeeren ~ Pre-screening ~ First Review

Delighted this dawn to begin the day with a delicious Cyres Coffee while reading the first review of Douglas Vermeeren’s ‘The Opus’ movie here in The Cafe of Dreams:

This afternoon I went to a pre-screening of The Opus. I loved it. The Secret isn’t really even comparable they are so different. Each one is great in it’s own way. But I did find that Opus gave much more practical advice and stuff I could apply into my life instantly. it was certainly not as “New Agey” and it wasn’t as mysterious. It was a more inspirational/motivational feel and direct information. The speakers were also very good. I think that The Secret only showed a fraction of what powerful people these are. I found the story in the Opus was absolutely incredible. I loved it. I am a little shy to admit that I almost cried at parts. It’s really powerful. I highly recommend this film to everyone as a must see. But go in without the idea to compare it to the Secret. It is NOT the Secret. The Secret was great. But they are SO different. And I liked The Opus better.

Much appreciation to cody B for gifting this view.

Dear Visitor, have you seen The Opus? Would love to know your thoughts about it.

Opus Trivia:
The violin used in the narrative section of the film was broken and cracked the first day of shooting (and right after the first scene) when one of the actors fell in the snow while carrying it. Rather than panic it was repaired and made to look like new by the director and the make-up department. The violin then returned to set where it finished the movie. That’s a great example of perseverance.

Opus Extra reports for Cyres Cafe from the set of The Opus movie - Part 3 * Starring Douglas Vermeeren

WOW! I was able to come back for the last day. we finished really really late last ngiht but it was worth it. To begin I kind of got found out. I didn’t know that doug and his team read this blog regularly, and this is the only place I have written. But at lunch yesterday they mentioned that they saw someone (me) was writing about the film online. They weren’t upset. actually he said that he was flattered. How funny. I really didn’t think that they were paying that close attention to what is going on online. Anyways, here’s my report. Yesterday we were on a big ship again, dressed in old costumes from the 1900’s. doug’s son Jared was there again. He looks so cute. And wow, that kid can act. And he looks so much like his dad. I really don’t much about the scenes except that jared (doug’s son) looks like he lost something on the ship and is looking for it. It was really fun to be involved in this film. and now that I know doug and his team read this: I want to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. This was the best movie set I have ever been on and it was an absolute pleasure to be involved. it’s always sad to leave a “movie family” once the film is finished, but I have to admit it was especially hard on this one. I certianly hope already there will be an Opus 2. This was nothing short of magical. and if the film is even a fraction as powerful as what we experienced on the set this will be an incredible movie that will touch hearts and change peoples lives. I can’t say enough good things about this experience. I wish Doug Vermeren the greatest success with this film and I will be first in line to come see The Opus.

THANK YOU for sharing! Joy is the point and for sure you’ve added to that here. We’re really hoping that you’ll continue to share this Opus Odyssey you’re on. We’ve enjoyed reading Episodes I, II, and III. You gifted us an amazing peak around the door at what’s to come. Your adventures are greatly adding to the story.

Well, My second day was great too. Doug gave everyone a cast and crew t-shirt. They are very nice. He also had every single cast and extra sign some Opus posters which are being auctioned for charity. I never felt like such a star. I am truly amazed at how doug and his staff have made everyone of us feel so importnat to this production. At lunch time he hurried to eat his own lunch so he could even take a minute to tell us (normally considered insiginificant extras) how appreciative he was and how essential we were to creating such a powerful film. He then gave us tickets for our family and friends to come and see us at the first screening of The Opus. doug’s assistant Jami and his other assistant Garth also told about the film. I had no idea this was as big as it was. It is pretty exciting. I was chatting with other extras and they also agree they have never had an experience like this on set. It was actually kind of electric. The other thing that was so interesting is that whenever Doug called for even the littlest detail from the extras - everyone was so willing to help or do anything required. There was not one sound of grumbling. ( I think other Movie directors could really learn something here.) I didn’t know too much about doug Vermeren before this - but now I must confess I am a die-hard super fan and can’t say enought hings about this guy. I can understand now why so many people love him. Scott duncan played Violin again today and we were in many concert type scenes. I am guessing he is the lead role. He is an amazing violinist. I don’t know if I am back for another day - but tomorrow is the last day. I did tell a few other friends on the set about this blog and one of them said she was so impressed she will also write about what’s happening too.
