from Dear Friend, Heather:

About 2 years ago a movie came out on the independent circuit called “Who Killed the Electric Car?”

It is about the oil industry and the power it has over our economy. It shows how we have become enslaved by the oil moguls and their unending thirst for wealth. Technologies that could have expunged our need for oil are destroyed while we the people pay and pay for illegal wars, rising gas prices, and an environment on the brink.

This movie will shock you and if you haven’t seen it please order it online and check it out. It is a must see!!!

Here is the trailer:

WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR?

This movie really impacted me. I came home and wrote this song the same night I saw it. I call it “Electric Car.” I hope you like it.

Sending love your way,

Heather Renee

Lyrics forELECTRIC CAR

TWINKLE, TWINKLE, LITTLE STAR, GIVE ME BACK MY ELECTRIC CAR SO I CAN DRIVE AWAY WITHOUT MY TAILPIPE SPITTING OUT THE GAS WE CARRIED HOME IN BODY BAGS.

OH UP ABOVE THE WORLD SO HIGH, NO NEED FOR OIL IF WE COULD FLY.

TELL ME ARE YOU ACHING FOR A CHANGE. TELL ME ARE YOU BREAKING FOR AN ANSWER?

WE HAVE NO VOICE THEY HAVE NO CLUE AND IF WE LIVE LIKE WE’RE JUST PASSING THROUGH, OUR CHILDREN WILL BLAME ME AND YOU.

TWINKLE, TWINKLE, LITTLE STAR, PLEASE GIVE ME BACK MY ELECTRIC CAR. I PROMISE I WON’T GO TOO FAR WITH A LITTLE LOVE WE CAN MAKE IT. BUT WE GOTTA GO BACK WHERE THE BUCK STARTS AIN’T NOBODY GOT THE MONEY HERE TO CHANGE IT.

OH HOW I WONDER WHAT YOU ARE TO TAKE AWAY MY ELECTRIC CAR. AND UP ABOVE THE WORLD SO HIGH. THIS DREAM WAS MADE FOR YOU AND I.

TWINKLE, TWINKLE, LITTLE STAR, PLEASE GIVE ME BACK MY ELECTRIC CAR.

My reply:

As with Wim, another interesting ‘go-incident’ (co-incidence) today .. earlier this day I added a video about ‘Earth Hour San Francisco 2008’ in The Café of Dreams (I also plan on adding a number today about UNICEF and water). Immediately afterwards, I travelled here, at the speed of light, to find your Song Of The Week … I could have fallen off the edge of the edge of my seat! What sensational connection. How appropriate. How relevant. This is happening more and more, your song each week is so perfect for the moment.

I don’t drive either. People find it challenging to accept that! Yet I have travelled great distances without one.

Haven’t seen the movie yet. Thank you for sharing your experience of it.

Yes I do like (understatement!) your song. You twinkle. I love it’s soft tenderness. It’s innocence … with awareness and depth.
