I have accumulated a box full of candles and incense and that sort of thing.

I used to light candles all the time and especially when I was expecting a visitor. Would light a nice candle and play soft background music as they arrived, in the hope that it would be viewed as a warm welcome to my home; ‘notice how I have prepared a nice inviting place for you,’ that kind of feeling.

Why did I drift away from a nice habit? I don’t know!

I re-awakened to the habit when I visited my Sister on Saturday. We sat and chatted on nice comfy red squishy seats and my eyes were drawn to her coffee table, where a lovely pot with a scented candle was flickering gently, and exuding a cosy warm glow. It reminded me of times in the past and rekindled my desire to light up my candles again.

My favourite experience with candles at the moment is to have soft lighting in the room when I sit down with my Husband in the evening. I have a silver coloured tealight pot that has about 20 star shaped holes around the sides. The light from the tealight candle within sends out a burst of starlight. It also reminds me of my Daughter and Cyres Cafe.

May the light shine bright wherever you are.
