Kaya Dordjee. Words cannot express.
And yet this is one of my purposes for being here, to paint the poems of life in words, so I will do my best …
One NOW at a ‘time’ …
The Stream of Life, pure and powerful, once upon a time during a delicious day guided Kaya Dordjee to The Café.
The moment their characteristic sound was listened to, live in The Café, in a spontaneous performance by Jachin and Pieter, it was a natural knowing that Kaya Dordjee sound is always available here for those who wish to tune in. Lightning that strikes many times in the same place.
Kaya Dordjee’s unique blend of world music with out-of-this-world sensitivities finds lush lotus flower here.
‘Overtones Odyssey’, Kaya Dordjee’s first official sharing of their sound in Cyres Café, was created. Sitting side by side with the eye-popping animations of visionary artist Walter Bruneel. May 9th. 9 p.m. A time of diamonds in the sky and a full moon disc.

Cometh The Hour, Cometh The Magic.
Kaya Dordjee.
Representing the passive and active qualities which reach perfection only when united, they sat in the round, diamond-like, in the heart, the centre, of The Café. A circle of sounds and strings. A sphere of actual reality. Those who came to listen gathered all round The Six, mostly to their right and left, like two wings of a Heart. Family, Friends, and ‘Strangers’ who were passing, flowing love and appreciation to the centre. The heart centre.
A variety of seat styles, from sofas and chairs to pouffes and floor cushions added to the cosy, intimate, together feeling. Like being at home. Some brought their own colourful cushions to cradle them in the creative cocoon that opened the moment the overtones began. Being with Kaya Dordjee is knowing what it is to be the butterfly in fullest expression.
The stylish room was lit by candles and beyond when the projections made The Café walls ultra~lickable.
Wouter Baeck, one of the musicians, showed two of his incredible paintings, giving the Cyres Café foyer another dimension. Abundance of beautiful blue-ness and spheres.
You could feel The Hot Buzz in the air. I could taste the excitement and eager anticipation for an event that had been talked about and envisioned in The Café every day for weeks.
So worth the journey.

When I dream, it sounds and looks like this.
A tapering pyramid, a tower of tones, light and information.
Warm earthy vibrations blended with galaxies of sounds, all divinely complemented by the out-of-this-world creativity of the visual magician, Walter Bruneel. A seamless sensual fusion. Unity. Challenging expectations. Extremely expressive eternal possibilities of sound and rhythm, colour and form. A tapestry of sound and images that changes over ‘time’, though you recognise it as something so familiar in you. Transformational textures that taste like all the goodness in the world.
Skilful means, aspiration, inner strength, and pure awareness.
A tone circle. Like one of the instruments Pieter played that night …
Want to share with you a Kaya Dordjee instrument, the hang drum that Pieter plays, as many talked with me about it after the concert, enchanted. You really have to experience it in person, like the Kaya Dordjee sound, and, as mentioned above, I will do what I can to translate into words. Beautiful to look at. Beautiful to touch. Beautiful to hear. There’s nothing like hearing it in person. The first time I did, I felt I was dancing with elves in an enchanted forest! Having said that, Pieter’s hang drum looks like a close encounter of the 3rd kind! Metallic and round .. and remarkably magical. Tuned dimples, like my cheeks were on Friday with a whale smile on, one side for a steel-drum-like sound. Clamped shallow shells that sound like harmonically tuned steeldrums, and also like bells. A hole on the other side makes an udu-like sound. The word ‘udu’ comes from the Ibo Tribal Language and means pottery and peace. The whole drum tuned for, and to, Pieter, who plays it with his hands while it is supported in his lap. Hang means “hand” in the Bernese language. It’s pronounced “hung” or “hong”. The Hang was developed in Switzerland, where Pieter travelled to, to choose it. This instrument was developed from many years of research on the steelpan and the study of a variety of instruments, for example, ghatam, gongs, gamelan, bells, drums, and so on.

In the hands of Pieter, from the hang drum, I hear visions that can change the planet, I hear sounds that are out of this world.
Pieter played several instruments on Friday, including another striking highlight, the didgeridoo. The didgeridoo is believed to be the world’s oldest wind instrument, dating back thousands of years. It originates as a musical instrument of the North Australian Aborigine, that Pieter met and lived with for a number of months.
Kaya Dordjee sound waves inspire you to gently guide your thoughts, consciously, clearly, in the soft direction of the dreams you desire. I got glimpses of the larger picture of Who I Really Am.
Great voices. Great presence.
Male aspects and female aspects.
Union of wisdom and method.
Compassion, love, sympathetic joy and equanimity.
Kaya Dordjee are stylistically diverse, daring, and dreamy. Magnificent mood pieces of broad and deep proportions flowed, sailing me softly into an ebb~and~flow movement that gently and strongly rocked my whole body. Supreme joy. Pure pleasure. Paced by rhythm patterns that pulsed my vibration, making my soul seat wobble! Wonder full waves washed over me and I swam deeper and deeper into the tones in my bones. Charging surges sweetened with the softest sublime kisses of creativity imaginable. Spontaneous spinning bliss. Effortlessness and ecstasy. Organic and orgasmic! Freedom and feel~good. Liberation and light heartedness. Sound waves that steered me on a straight course to my soul dreams, raising a hologram of my heart before me.
An aromatic aural mosaic created by musicians that are sound masters. Though their humble hearts would never have them saying that. Beauty from a lotus base. The six of patience, generosity, discipline, effortlessness, meditation, and wisdom, present. Their multifarious multi~dimensional feel guides you to being more conscious and connected. Friday was like being in a cosmic cathedral. Kaya Dordjee musical instincts and imaginings serve them and All Life very well.
Eternal strength and constancy. When the experience was complete, with a fairy~tale ending, Kaya Dordjee received a much deserved standing ovation.
A happy journey creates a happy ending.
