This year, I hand-made 70 Christmas Cards (inspired to show a double C here for the Cafe Crowd!!), some for relatives, mostly for staff where I work. Este ano, eu mão-Cartões de Natal feitos 70 (inspirado para mostrar uma dupla C aqui para o Cafe Crowd!), De alguns familiares, principalmente para o pessoal onde eu trabalho.

Usually I enclose something extra in the envelope. Normalmente eu juntar algo extra no envelope. This year it is a sprinkle of little gold and silver reindeer, that when the card is opened will fall out *giggling* Hopefully (my smiley intention), appearing to JUMP from the card! Este ano é um pouco sprinkle de ouro e prata renas, que quando a placa é aberta cairá fora giggling * * Esperemos (smiley minha intenção), que aparecem a partir do cartão JUMP! Delivering JOY!!!! Cumprindo JOY!!

It makes everyone laugh and I love watching their faces when they open the cards. Faz todo mundo rir e eu adoro assistir seus rostos quando abrir o cartão.

In the office, everyone is sticking the little reindeer around the edge of their computor screens. No escritório, todos estão aderindo a pouco renas em torno da borda de sua computor telas. So they dance and prance round our serious work, inspiring a light-hearted feeling. Então, dança e prance ronda nosso trabalho sério, uma luz inspiradora-hearted sentimento. Jill keeps the little inserts I include each time and brings them out each year, so she now has a fabulous collection. For the tags for office presents, I got some wrapping paper, cut out tree patterns from the paper and stuck them on Cream Coloured card. Para as tags para escritório apresenta, eu tive algumas embrulho papel, a árvore cortada padrões do papel e congela-los no cartão de cor creme. I stitched on red beads as baubles. I cosida sobre vermelho pérolas como baubles. They look really nice. Olham realmente agradável. Looking at the colors and shapes gifts me a nice warm feeling! Olhando para as cores e formas presentes me uma agradável sensação quente!

We have a little tree that Mae has decorated. Temos uma pequena árvore que tem Mae decorada. She brought in her Fairy that usually sits atop her tree at home. Ela trouxe em seu Fairy que geralmente fica acima dela árvore em casa. It’s quite big compared to our tree, and that’s the beauty of it, it does not matter! É bastante grande, em comparação com a nossa árvore, e essa é a beleza do mesmo, não importa!

Mae has also brought in chocolate decorations to hang on the tree. Mae trouxe também em chocolate enfeites para pendurar na árvore. Hope the low winter sun does not melt them; as we have our tree in the bay window! Espero que o sol baixo no inverno não derreter-los; como temos a nossa árvore na baía janela!

We have our cards hanging around the walls on string and I think it looks lovely and friendly when people come in to the office. Temos os nossos cartões pendurados nas paredes em torno da string e acho que ela está linda e simpática quando as pessoas vêm para o escritório.

This last week before Christmas, we take turns at bringing in festive food. Esta última semana antes do Natal, que revezam em evidência no festivo alimentar. Today Meg has brought in pitta bread and home-made beetroot dip. Hoje Meg trouxe pão pitta e na home-made beterraba mergulhar. Also home-made fresh cranberry muffins. Também home-made fresca cranberry bolos. A little taste of Heaven on a plate! Um pouco gosto do céu sobre um prato! I wish I could share them now with guests in Cyres Cafe! Gostaria de poder partilhá-los agora com hóspedes em Cyres Cafe!

Really enjoying giving them now. Really desfrutando dando-lhes agora.

I feel that the time spent in making them is the very essence of giving. Eu sinto que o tempo gasto em torná-las é a essência do que dá.

Imagine my surprise when an email arrived in every department where I work, suggesting that we do not send Christmas cards, and instead, we donate to the charity we usually support. We have other fund raising events throughout the year to support Children in Need (I am in the U.K.). Donating to charity is lovely and to be encouraged and expanded, and , I wonder whether giving a general email instead of, rather than as well as, will lose some of the warmth of giving and receiving?
