More exploration of the Cyres Café building Ground Floor …
As seen through the eyes of my heart, that is sitting in its grounded centre right now …
This sitting at The Blog is mostly about seating. With tables added for support.
I’m sitting super-comfortably, feeling sweet inner stillness, in The Café aspect of The Cyres Building. In the centre segment of the room, Core Cafe. On a big beautiful butterscotch couch, that feels as if it’s designed especially for me! (I’ve noticed that others feel the same, such is The Cyres Comfort Factor!)
To my left is the direction of the front of the building and the street (34 Leopold De Waelstraat). To my right is the direction of the Cyres Garden.
To my left, five Fjord tables, flooded by the light from two giant rectangular sash-windows, framed in chocolate. The light melts my heart as I gaze with gratitude on the chocolate box scene, looking like a page from the hottest design magazine. The Dream, now seen.
Each Fjord table is a round white top balanced on a black stem supported by a black square base. Black and white elegance. Simply bella. Super chic. Italian design. Made by Moroso, www.moroso.it
You’ll see Cyres Café Designer, Arne Quinze, on the Moroso site, as he’s also one of the Moroso designers and hence why we have Moroso in Cyres Café Antwerp.
Five fabulous multi-functional tables, for eating at, talking at, mind-walking at, expressing at, … Espresso~ing at!
So thrilled that I was here when they arrived from Italy, and that I helped to unpack them! (They’re mighty heavy!) Big Boxes of (Designer) Delight!!!!! Delicious.
3 tables have two seats. 1 table has three seats. 1 table has four seats. (Plus there is another on the landing of the stairs to the third floor). All arranged purposefully to make the best use of the space. Ease and Elegance are words that we in Cyres love to use and roll around our minds and hearts into the spaces we create.
The seats are Superb!
Helped to unpack them also!!!!!!!!!
Doubly Delicious.
Called a ‘Bloomy’ chair, made by Moroso, Designer Patricia Urquiola. Through my eyes, each looks like a flower in bloom; an open-tulip shape, three petals, all delicious soft sensual curves. The bud becomes a chair, for BEing in. A Cyres Café Experience can mean feeling your self, in full bloom. Opening more and more to the mysteries and magic of (conscious) creation.
‘Bloomy’ = full bloom
The top of each chair is level with the surface of the Moroso Fjord table it sits with. Partners in comfort.
A Café with armchairs! Mmm imagine.
You can feel it adapt to your body and your body adapt to it. The chair fits around you and you feel it’s a perfect fit. Your spine can easily follow its contours, so you feel fully supported and comfortable.
A ‘Bloomy’ chair gives great feel! It’s highly texturous. Quite a unique feel, which is why I’m not comparing it with anything (though the nearest texture in my memory is a Scottish tartan picnic blanket I had). It’s a warm, comforting feeling.
A ‘Bloomy’ chair gives cool colour! Quite unusual looking, I would describe it as milk chocolate colour. It has a base colour and then super-subtle white mottling through it, giving depth.
Each chair has six silver workable zips. Fun! Quirky! A zip joins the side to the back, one on each side. Underneath, the chair has zips, four zips, one at each corner of its curved rectangular base.
A cool thing is, the zips at the back, top and bottom, open towards each other!!
‘The CYRES Movie’ (have you experienced it yet?) was created before the chairs were received … before knowing about the chairs … I smiled, seeing them for the first time, linking the zips on the chair with the ‘zip’ in The Cyres Movie. Watch it, you’ll see!
I love the imagery of zips … openings … steps … access …
This is how Moroso describe the ‘Bloomy’ chair:
Description
Bloomy is an armchair that evokes the vegetative beginnings of the flower. The bud has become a chair, the open flower a lounge chair and the armchair is the flower in full bloom. The internal steel structure is covered in flame-retardant cold-expanded foam. To complete the range, there is a table that can be used in a variety of situations, either to accompany the sofa and armchairs, or standing happily on their own. The table have a base in lacquered steel. The top is in HP mineral composite or Deco-veneer.

So that’s one of our collection of Cyres Café Chairs. Contemporary cool. Innovative ideas. About beginnings. Sturdy and soft. Open and naturally welcome.
I love … LOVE … furniture that “evokes”.
That’s Cyres!
The other two thirds, middle plus garden end, of The Café aspect of The Cyres Building, holds the butterscotch couches I’ve conversed about. Plus, the pouffes. A variety of irregular-round shapes. Four in dark chocolate. Five in mustard yellow. Visible stitching adds to the contemporary feel and the material feels like felt. Easily movable, this allows guests to be flexible with where they choose to sit on each visit. The couches are fixed. The ‘Bloomy’ armchairs and the pouffes are flexible.
As well as the five Fjord tables, there are eight ‘Bloomy’ tables. You can see them in this picture. The ones with white top and black base (so they match our five Fjord tables).
Cyres Café gives you flexibility, a menu of seating, and tables, to choose from. A movable feast of fabulous furniture.
If you’re an Online Guest, “welcome”, tell us about the seat(s) you sit on to experience The Café of Dreams virtually. Before I could sit in Cyres Café Antwerp to connect and converse with you, wherever I was sitting with my laptop, I would imagine that I was in My Café of Dreams and I would feel good.
Relax in Cyres Café, online, and, onworld. Soft, supporting, and comfortable, with an edge.
