This week, Cyres Cafe received a gift, a book in the post. ‘The Belief Formula’ by Pete Koerner.
Much appreciation all round.
‘The Belief Formula’ is about how people throughout the ages, and throughout different cultures, have worked with prayer to influence their life for the better. It is about the power of prayer to heal yourself and to experience a better life.
The book talks about effective prayer, how it works and how we work with a force that is bigger than our ego selves.
Pete’s Wife, Jennifer, writes:
Welcome to The Belief Formula
“Although your knees were never bent, To heaven your hourly prayers are sent, And be they formed for good or ill, Are registered and answered still.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
When I first read this verse by Emerson, I was struck deeply by the realization that my thoughts mattered, and that prayer wasn’t just something that you did a couple times a day with your hands folded and your head bowed. The greatest spiritual teachers of all time have been trying to send us the same clues. Are you completely satisfied with everything you currently have in your life? Do you have the level of health, happiness and prosperity, you have always wanted? If so, then keep doing what you are doing — it’s working for you. But if not, read on.
What I’m saying, is that every thought that you have, every moment of everyday is a “prayer”, and it is being answered. This book The Belief Formula: The Secret to Unlocking the Power of Prayer, will challenge your old ways of thinking and being in the world, and will offer spiritual wisdom to help you create real-world health, happiness, and success. We were born to thrive, not just survive; and I believe that this book will give you the keys to use the powerful gift of prayer (thought) in a way that will support you rather than limit you.
A mind stretched by new ideas never returns to it original dimensions. My belief is that you will be blessed in many ways by the reading of this amazing book, written by an amazing man, my husband, and best friend, Pete Koerner.
Thoughts become things; use them wisely!

About the Book
Most people are not aware that there is more than one way to think, and that they unconsciously spend most of the day operating in the least effective part of their brain – the part that stares at the outside world.
Some individuals, in spite of the pressures and problems of the world around them, are able to overcome those pressures and literally become masters of their own lives. Others seem to let life overwhelm them — like a rudderless craft in a storm swept sea. The difference can be traced to a way of thinking. We need to wake-up to the fact that good health and abundance are our natural states, and stop continually inviting sickness and lack into our lives with unnecessary worries, concerns, and anxieties. Everything changes dramatically (almost magically) for the person who discovers the secrets of their own power. Isn’t it about time you discovered yours? It’s the thought that counts!
Never underestimate the power of taking one small action outside of your comfort zone! Regardless of who you are, where you came from or what your religious or financial background is — these principles function with absolute precision each and every time. They have to. They are UNIVERSAL LAWS — just like gravity.
Prayer is the oldest form of problem-solving and healing, yet has been rendered marginally effective through years of ignorance and misunderstanding. Prayer is much older than any religion, and can be explained in such a way that it will become clear what a real and powerful tool we have access to in Prayer — ALL of us.
If you don’t pray because you think it is a religious thing, you should think again. Prayer is thought; thought is prayer. It is our thoughts that create our lives; we just need to learn what that means and start using what we learn. The greatest minds of all-time have always said thing like, “As a man thinketh, so it is done unto him.”
Prayer works the same way for everyone — the only difference between one person and another is their understanding of how such things operate. As a child, I knew I was supposed to be talking to God, but I had no real concept of how to make my wishes heard.
After years of studying medicine, religion, religious history, physics, energy psychology, and the realm of the human mind and thought, it has become clear that we have simply been ignoring the obvious to our own detriment. We have a valuable and powerful tool in Prayer; we need only understand it and start using it constructively in our lives.
Belief Formula Quote
“There are no limits placed on our success or creative powers other than those which are self-imposed. We are powerful beings with unlimited potential. We arrived here with this potential for creation and transcendence – it is our inheritance; a gift from our creator.”
Pete Koerner
Whenever we walk through mist, going through uncertainty in our lives, not knowing what we are to encounter, how we will make it through, and feeling a need to know, in many cases, the only thing that is left is to surrender ourselves to ourselves, and surrender ourselves to a greater energy, God.
I began praying when my godfather died. I was 11.
I turned to God. Prayed to God, to get insights on what was happening, wanting to get answers about the life I was in.
Today, I continue to pray.
I talk to a bigger energy than my local perspective is.
I believe.
In the midst of challenge, I cultivate and appreciate faith. In the midst of joy, I cultivate and appreciate faith.
Faith is soothing in the midst of transformation and increases my stength.
Faith is soothing as I celebrate accomplishments.
I choose to live, moment to moment, in a state of grace.
God, the power of prayer, is real.
So much of what we perceive is not real.
We can ask ourselves, what is really true?
When we perceive, from our limited perspective, that we are forsaken by our surroundings, there is always surrender to a state of grace. Inner conversation, with All-That-Is, that inspires us to stand up and continue our life experience with as much love, appreciation and joy as possible.
Thank you, Pete, for this refreshment. It feels good to see, and feel, prayer through new eyes and to see it as a powerful way to create your reality and experience self.
